"Growing up in France, Delphine fell in love with wine. At 15, when she started working harvests in the picturesque Beaujolais and Burgundy regions, it became inevitable that she would study winemaking at Burgundy's most prestigious academy. What would have been harder to predict is that, after graduating in 1998, she would go on to make wine in another picturesque wine region-Oregon's Dundee Hills. But after college, during an apprenticeship in Oregon wine country, she fell in love again-this time with her future husband, Russell. So in 2004, when Winter's Hill had an opening for a winemaker, it was only natural that Delphine would step in. Now she's producing boutique pinot noir and pinot gris that are wowing judges and turning heads. She likes that the wine rules in the U.S. are looser than in France, leaving her free to experiment, though she calls herself a traditionalist, keeping her wines simple and natural, fitting with the Gladharts' dedication to sustainable production."
